I believe that the audition parts of Idol now are all set-up. Would you honestly act like some of these people do on tv? Why would you want to present yourself that way? I think They are doing all this for ratings. I dont know if any of you have been watching this year but I've actually seen like 5 or 6 of the ones whom actually made it. They show the winners comming out of the door with the sign but they show more of the horrible ones than anything? What do you guys think? Do you agree with me or dissagree?

i agree to a point. i think some of them people really think they can sing. but if you look at the ratings, do you really think if they showed all the good ones that people would really watch as much? they have to have something to laugh about. I think that is why they show more of the funny ones and save the better ones until later. that way you have to watch to see who all made it. We have seen most of them but havent heard them all. gives it more of a twist i guess. just my thoughts.

I don't think they need to set them up. There are enough people out there willing to embarass themselves all on their own. ;) They might do a few things to get these people to make even bigger fools of themselves, maybe by encouraging them before they get on camera... I do suspect some of that going on, but otherwise I think this is for real! lol

There are three pre-screenings ofthe auditioners I believe. So - if they let them through - it has to be because they want to have the ratings, and give people somethign to laugh at. Personally, I'd rather see more of the good singers and less of the crummy ones. I guess they figure we'll see them on the show.

I never thought they were until last year. I can't believe that Taylor beat all those other people. I was really disappointed last year. Taylor is good, but he's not an idol.

I do agree that some of them are sent through for the ratings. I also believe that some of these people who can't sing are in it for their "fifteen minutes of fame." They think this is their chance to be seen on national television and they make the most of it, even if it means they make fools of themselves. How awful it is to have America see them in that light. Disgusting!

This is my first season watching American Idol and I have to say that it has to be for ratings that they show these terrible people. But it is true on how these people act when they are rejected; my husband is an actor and he says that people come to auditions and if it is shown that they cannot act in the audition some of the people beg and plead that they are picked for the part because they can "improve, just let me know what it is I need to change".
Its really amazing to see people going so far in that!
