Attention all home repair enthusiasts. Who doesn't need Duct tape? How many times could you have used a piece or masking or electrical tape? I will send all three of them to you for free. Just send 1.00 in a self addressed stampd envelope. Supplies are limited so act fast. If I posted this ad and then, returned everyones self addressed stamped envelope with a piece of paper with a piece of each kind of tape on it. Would you consider that a scam. Remember I am only promising them tape, and I did mention "used a piece". And by the way I do think it would be a scam. I'm curious about what others think.

I have learned from the internet that nothing is absolutely free their is always a gimmick or a trick to it. But I would say alot of people have fallen for things like this. I myself would have. But thanks to the internet and all it "It's Free" things that aren't really free or you have to fill out surveys and signup for garbage you wouldn't otherwise so just to get nothing in the end anyhow. But this would be a great scam. Like the Guy with the pennies. Told everyone he would send them a engraved portrait of Lincoln for just $17.95 and all they got was a penny. Well hope you have a good day. And happy posting mari

You have a devious mind! LOL Technically I guess you gave out what you said you were going to give. Ethically it's a scam. I did wonder how a roll of duct tape was going to fit in an envelope. I guess I would have sent you a great big one.haha

I would consider it a scam as well. Yes legally it might not be because of how it was worded but it could be a very grey area. I'd feel like I was cheated however there is the saying Caveat emptor, let the buyer beware. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

I saw a similar scam once where someone was preying on the elderly selling a copper commemorative piece made to honor Abraham Lincoln. They were charging like 19.99 or 9.99 or something like that... and then mailing the people a penny.

Well, you are delivering what you said you would, but I don't think it's honest. I would however be laughing my butt off when I opened the envelope!!! But some people would probably not find it very funny! Very Clever!!!! ;-)

VERY GOOD! Yes, its a scam because you used the tape on the paper and they were useless to the buyer! Laughter aside, you would be against US postal laws for improper usage and fraud.

Scam for sure. The buyer would assume you would send usable rolls of tape. This is misleading and definitely scam territory. Do you think any of the buyers might be upset? This is exactly how scammers work...promise a good product, take your money and deliver a pile of crap. I guess if I was in a terribly good mood, I might laugh at this. But, next time a similar scam might come around and ask for $20. This is the kind of thing that gives the Internet and honest sellers a bad name.

It is a scam, because you're not doing exactly what you were promising you'd do. I mean, sure you promised them tape, but you're not giving them what people would expect. You'd be earning hundreds of dollars from people that way.

I think that is definitely a scam but as mentioned there's no doubt a lot of people who would fall for it. I suppose you could kind of get off on a technicality though.

Yes it is a scam. The way you worded your post, you would fool many people. Only smart people would care to ask if it was a brand new role of tape.

Sure, this is a scam, but yes, I probably would have fallen for it. Something about the word Free, that gets everyone's attention. I think you have brought to our thoughts the phrase "you can't get anything for nothing." Nice post.

I do think that would be a scam even though you are not lying to anyone. It is too bad people spend so much time and energy thinking of ways to dupe people. Many people would jump at an offer like this.

No doubt they can do it...coz there are many things here on net which are beyond our imagination, that is our we can not chalk out their logic, or equally they may be scamming here! Be aware, and never give any personal information!
