Just this year, my son's teacher seemed to favor more with her girl student rather than the boys. She claimed that boys are naughtier than girls. As a result, she attends more to their questions and needs. I have talked to the school administrator this issue was promised to take necessary course of actions. What do you feel about this? Is it right for a teacher to have student favoritism?

Well obviously she has some misconceptions about boys and girls. I've known many girls who can be naughtier then boys. Each child should be treated the same, no matter their gender. Stereotyping a child just by their gender is wrong and it's discrimination more then favoritism. If the adminsterator does not handle the situation then I would suggest you ask that he be placed with a different teacher. Get him moved into a class where the teacher will be fair and impartial.

Certainly not right, but we can't avoid this favoritism. So teachers should a little discreet about this so that you can't hurt your students. Even us we have our favorite child or cousins, or friends but then we have to be careful not to hurt others.

as teachers they should know how to deal with both gender of students. although boys are really naughtier than girls they are jsut being boys. and they also have funny sides. they should not have any preferential treatment at all since the school is coed. all they have to do is to learn how to handle their students may it be boys or girls
