Do people really need anti-depressants to be happy?

I don't think people need them to be happy. Anti depressants are a way of making the chemicals in the brain work properly. Sometimes people need that little bit of help to start sorting themselves out. Others need them permanantly as their depression is purely a chemical imbalance and there is nothing they can do to control it. Anti depressants are often seen as a bad or negative thing but they are a medication for an illness the same as anti biotics.

no, because we'd be dependent. It's psychological, hopefully these heavy emotions would go away.

i think it depends on how severe the depression is and what is causing it.. if its a chemical imbalance then anti depressants are very helpful in regulating that so your not depressed all of the time.

not at all. Rather you should avoid it as all medicines are basically chemicals and they will make you addicted and all have side effects.
