Is it wrong to kill whales? Should Japan for example stop their whaling?

Whaling does not supply that much meat. Many species of whale are nearing extinction. Should whaling be stopped? Should Japan stop their 'scientific' whaling?

Of course they should!, killing countless amounts of whales for a 'treat' and some oils is going a bit far...They sohuld genetically modify some plants to make a 'Whale' tree...Produces oils AND doesn't die from being shot! *shakes fists*

Yea whaling should stop, if you can't gett food out of it or anything. Why kill a beautiful animal for no reason?
