why we need money?

If we used rocks as money it would just end up being the same thing. But because the government controls the amount of money that circulates in the country our whole economy would fail because there are so many rocks and you don't have to work to get them. So eventually the rocks would become worthless and then people would end up trading like a long time ago. Then the government would not get any money from this and our country would end up ruined. Or if this didn't happen then it would be like 10,000 rocks is the same as $1 and that would be a lot to carry around with you. Also if the supply of rocks ran out or somehow people controled how many were circulatedthey would be very very easy to conterfeit.

to fulfil ur basics u need money and to look after ur family u need money. tell me where u dun need money at al. u r here bcoz of money. n u haev started this discussion n u r paying for the internet charge thro money. :) Money u can utlize is & some may not utilize it. but dun waste it. lol. I can understand where you are coming from, but as we can not provide everything we need in our life to survive, we must have money. I use my money to pay for my home and my food. Two very important things. You are right, money does not buy happines or peace. In fact, I think the greed for money is what causes the most of the problems we face in todays society.

money can do every thing, without money we can't get education, we can't get food, cloth, transportation etc. but it the people who misused the money. even education is also dangerious if we used in negative way. if we used money in better way there is no wrong with money. i need money for my betterment of my life and my people. but nevr in negative way.

I don't think money can purchase you happiness, love or peace. But noone said money's purpose is to buy you those things. Money is just token of value that we use to make our transactions easier. Imagine how hard it will be to do transactions without money. For example, if you produce bread and want to exchange that for meat you will have to find someone who produce meat and need bread in order to do transaction with hin. But with money you can sell your bread to anyone who needs it, and then use that money to purchase meat for yourself. Money is one of the great inventions of civilized societies. It has it's purpose, but it's purpose is not to buy you happiness, love or peace.

we all need money to buy our necessities in life! it's true that we cannot buy peace with money but it's an instrument we use to have a little peace in our mind. it gives us a little satisfaction that we can buy foods, clothes etc...

we are in this materialistic world where money is everthing. if you have money you have respect and everything.i understand money cannot buy peace but there are many other things what a human needs that money can buy. just try this. think that you dont have a single buck in your pocket. are you at peace? i hope you understood whati am saying.

Money cannot buy peace but it will make you peaceful. If one dosent have the necessities of life how will he ever nbe peaceful. So if earning time is moderated i think we will have peace.
