DO you go to bed too late just because you watches series, or movies in tv? DO you think is it normal? Sorry to ask, but do you think you are really normal? I have another discussion about "what time do you go to bed", and I saw that the most often cause to go to bed is the TV. If somebody says he works, or learn, or just talking all the night I can accept. But just sit and watching nonsense movies and shows in the night instead of talking,or sleeping...It is really strange.

as already explained in the other discussion I go to bed at abou 9 pm to watch tv with my daughters and stay a bit together. To be honest I'm following some series but I'm not going to sleep too late in order to watch them. If I'm very tired, and this happen often since I wake up at 6.15 am and I work all day in the office and then at home, I close my eyes without any problems. And I record what I need to see, even if nonsense programs or movies! then sorry but i need to tell you, i don't like what you tell: everybody is free to do what they like, and if they want to sit and watch NONSENSE (i don't know why nonsense, maybe for you, not for us) movies or shows or whatever, everybody should feel free to do it, like you to go to bed at 9 and sleep!

If you talk to your daughters it is OK. But I did not mean you. But the people who sleep 5-6 hours just because they are watching the tv all the night. Of course everybody is free to do it,but instead of comunicating just to sit and look out from their head it is really strange. And it is also strange if somebody do not even read any books. If somebody is reading all the night it is even better, because he uses his fantasy. But to watch the tv, and then they can not get up in time in the morning.. Do you think it worth of it? Maybe the sleeping is too important for me, and I am the strange...

Now I see, that my sentences are full of every kinds of mistakes. I do not wonder if I won't receive too many comments. I wanted to write too fast my thoughts. Actually I just wonder how tv changed and changes people normal life. Just think of the time when there was not tv. Or when there were not programs all the day (or all the week- I remember!) Of course I watch the tv too in the early evening, and sometimes till 11pm. But there are days when I do not switch it on at all. When I ask "are you normal?" I just want to ask "is your life really about the tv?, how can it be more important than anything else?" Anyway, thanks!

I dont watch tv. I havent had cable for over a year and I DONT miss it either. When you dont have cable you have more time to do other stuff that is more important. There are only a few good shows on anyway. Id rather work on my website alani apparel.

Sometimes I may stay up a little later if there is something on I really want to watch but not normally. It is more likely that I am on Mylot and won't get off and go to bed.

My life actually is not directed by TV progams. I do however, record certain programs that I enjoy to watch at later convience. That way I'm not staying up too late, or skipping doing something just for a television show.

I do this occational, whenever I feel to...specially when there is a movie that I want to review back. But being awake late just watching TV you're actually not enjoying, then that's quite a strange already. It could be that you're not actually watching TV, maybe you're accupied of something else that's whay you cannot sleep.

I can walk away from television, usually watching it only in spare time. Nothing is that compelling for me to be driven to watch anything. I do like HGTV, but I will not die if I miss a week of it. Now blogging is another thing. I check my blogs everyday and check in to see who has posted.

I honestly think this is an awfully weird question... are you asking if we think we are, in a sense, addicted to TV? In that we go to bed "too late"... to some detriment in our lives... because of it? I highly doubt many people do... I mean, even if you are up until 11 watching television, and you are up at 5 or 6, that is 6-7 hours of sleep! I think a lot of people need to unwind after working ALL day, taking care of the kids, the house, the dishes, the meals; they need to SIT for a bit. I know my brain won't just "shut off" because it is 7 hours and counting until I have to wake up. Sometimes I read, or game, or watch television or movies. Sometimes I chat or talk with friends or my fiance. Regardless; there are many things that affect sleep... fights, kids + bedtime issues, health issues, insomnia, worries, anxiety, anger, depression... and on and on. TV though? I mean... if you are "up TOO late" because of it... like you're falling asleep at work or something... then ... you're addicted and need help. If you stay up to watch the odd show that you really enjoy but feel somewhat fatigued in the morning? Well .... some of us work overtime and end up feeling fatigued. Sometimes, it's nice to feel tired the next morning because we had a REALLY GREAT NIGHT... and not because the kids were throwing up or the phone rang or heartburn appeared or a random bout of insomnia or worrying about work...

I have to tell, that me and as I see from the comments fortunatelly there are people who are not bored without tv. And it is not the only thing we can do after a hard day. But also there are people who can not live without it.

My wife falls asleep at night while watching TV. Me, on the other hand, cannot close my eyes. I have to force myself to go to sleep. I can stay up for hours watching something that I do not even like. I annoy myself with this.

I am eligible to say an emphatic "NO". Not only I, no member of my family is addicted to the T.V. We have very few programs that we see daily and the T.V is not on for more than an hour or half a day. Both of us go for work and children are busy with their studies. But still if i give freedom my daughter will get glued to jetix or cartoon network, as such she is being watched by all of us. I sleep by 11 p.m.and that is because of my freelance work or my lot.

I'm an insomniac and stay up late anyway but I can never go to bed and leave a movie no matter what, even if I'm not really enjoying it, it is a distraction I think, probable putting off going to bed and knowing I won't sleep. We only have 3 channels to watch here and they don't show anything to great late at night anyway, might get sky but then I probable wouldn't go to bed at all.
