I am clear abt. ur question. If u r asking for hardware then I think assembled computer is better than branded. Becoz. u can make as per your own requirement. And in future if there is any problem then every hardware engineer can solve the problem. If u have branded then after warranty period, if there is any fault then u have to go to their serive centre. And above all the cost will be lower for assembled one in comparison with branded computer with same configuration. Now if u point out towards Software then I think best operating system as of now is Windows as all softwares can work under this platform.

Acer and Dell are proven by R.S.D. studies to be by far the worst computers out there and statistics are shown to be that 56.3% of the Acer and Dell computers out there that are reported has lost there internal memory and backup system within the first 8 to 12 months.....this is juss a heads up!...its ur investment!

i use assembled computer. i think acer and Compaq are the leaders. i have used a Pentium 1 acer. it was a nightmare.
