What are your views on divorce?

Hey everyone. I'm 19 and my parents are going through horrid divorce. It's a long story so I'll explain in a nutshell. You see, my mom cheated on my dad and he caught them and she became REAL angry and said it was only a friend. So down the road, my mom kept seeing him. So my dad drove to his neighborhood and parked on a street corner and contemplated how he should approach this guy to leave our family alone. Well the guy came out of his house and started walking over to my dad. My dad rolled down the window to see what he wanted and that's when the guy pulled a gun on my dad. My dad wasn't afraid, but the guy was because witnesses saw him. So it went in a police report and blah blah. THEN my mom STILL was going with the guy! This has been going on for 5 years or more but the divorce just recently occured. My dad didn't press charges on the man, he didn't throw my mom out, and he pays for EVERYTHING and my mom is trying to soak him for every penny he's got. I just wanted to know what you think about this situation and other divorces.
