I have a very nosey mother-inlaw....any advise?

anyone have any advise on how i can tell my inlaws to stay out of our personal lives and leave our lives alone without causeing issues with my wife. my wife agrees with me it is just she doesn't want to say anything to her mother cuz her mother manipulates her easily and intimidates her as well. any and all advise is appreciated and welcome

Well, what exactly are your in-laws doing? Are they interfering, or asking questions or...?
One thing that works pretty well is turning it around on them. For example if they ask a personal question that they have no business asking, turn it around and ask them "why do you ask?" Or "why did you need to know?" You don't have to be rude or snotty about it. Just ask like you're curious. They won't have a good answer and they'll be forced to either acknowledge to themselves that they've been prying or they may actually take offense at the question but the bottom line is they know they have no answer so it will make them more reluctant to put themselves in that position again.
If they are interfering as in offering unsolicited advice and that sort of thing, one thing you might try is just letting it go in one ear and out the other. Maybe even agree with them and then just go on and do things the way you want to do them.
If it's more invasive than that, I guess it would depend on what exactly it is that they're doing.

that is a good idea to turn things around on them. i guess i was a little unclear they are prying into my finances on a weekly basis and they get angry when i get defensive about my money but it was helpful thanx

just dont mind her and stay cool. I in my case have a very nosey stepmom but i dont mind her at all.

lol ya she is that nosy but not as friendly about it. my mother in-law is an irrational control freak and when she does not get her way she lashes out at the world irrationally
