People just want to talk about themselves

I can spend hours one the phone. I was just talking to a certain friend of mine for two hours on the phone. All I said was 'hello' and 'uhuh'. She went on yada yada yada about everything in her life. When i tried to butt into the topic and trying to relate a similar incident in my life, she would promptly bring the limelight back to herself. She finally keeps the phone saying that she was glad we BOTH caught up with things happening in each others lives. I could scream. Where is the love?
