becoming a doctor-too tough?

Hi everyone. i want you people to share your thoughts about one of the noble professions in this world DOCTOR.to become a doctor is my dream.i was not able to get a medical seat in my first attempt. so i waited for one more year and was successful in my second attempt.i was so happy then. am a second year student now. but now i feel that its too hard to be a doctor.it takes 5 and a half years to finish mbbs itself. that too without any breaks. i have seen people studying mbbs for nearly ten years. mere mbbs wont do good.so postgraduation has to be done which may be 2 to three years. my friends who took up engineering and other branches will be finishing their studies next year. this makes me to think that i have made a mistake by taking this course. even though i love the profession its pricking me.so tell me friends do you think i have made a mistake. please tell me of the ways to overcome this and focus on my studies.please help me out.
