Best openers for indian cricket team

the best openers for indian cricket team would be shewag and sachin tendulkar both are the best players in indian cricket team and rahul dravid should be the one down..

according to me sourav should be the fixed opener and coice shud be made between sehwag or utthappa, sachin should come at number 4 and dravid at number three

I think in the past Sachin and saurav were brilliant openers, now its seams Gambir and Uttappa will reminds the same feeling while ganguly was wth sachin

yes definitely they are the best openers in the one-day international cricket all over the world. They have the best average as an opening day of and they are the two most successful one-day players in Indian team and I guess they should be opening in such an important event because a lot will depend on how our team starts in the important matches especially after the super six. We have seen that with the extended session of powerplay it has become very important to score a as much and quickly runs in the first 20 overs on the powerplay so that the teams can boast a very good total. There was a time when more than 250 was a very competitive total but now teams are easily cheating and winning matches with totals over 300. So I guess the Indian management and team selectors should look at this fact and decide what should be the batting order in the West Indies for the World Cup.

i agree but people have figured out a formula to get them out so why not try uthapa and sourav i hope it will rock

i know sachin is also there.. but he is a bit out of for. also he can play more freely in the middle order when the ball will b relatively old & he will hav more empty places to steal the runs later on in the match so we must try out sourav & rabin uthappa

i think the one who is most consistence as well as a bit of attacking in nature should open for the team. in that prospect i think sourav must be there in the opening slot, i will like to see rabin uthappa getting another chance to blast again. if he does so, then he must open with sourav ganguly.. in that way we will also hav a left & right hand combination....

I think it will be Saurav and gautam gambhir... Your choice is good but I think they should give a try against bangladesh..

in my view sachin and shehwag were best.....even saurabh was good but sachin and shehwag were really dominating if they both performed well,how can i forget that match between india and pakistan in last worldcup..it was really nice and memorable to watch sachin's shots and shehwag's sixes..it was really a nice match and hoping india will beat pakistan again in this worldcup continuing the old tradition...

There is no doubt that despair is the best opening their for the Indian team and their record proves the same. I don't give a dam if others disagree with my opinion because they have played a lot of matches and made a lot of valuable contributions on the behalf of which Indian team won a lot of matches. And I think this is the opening combination which the Indian management will be thinking of having for the World Cup which is coming very shortly and if this is done than I think India has more chances of doing well and reaching the finals of the World Cup.
