I used to go all the time when I was younger. My parents took my sister and I there. I did go once back when I was dating my husband. We went with another couple. The other couple got in a fight, so it didn't make it a great experience for us. There are a few around, and one of these days we're going to go!!!

Oh I love the drive in!! We have one about an hour away from us. I haven't been there in years but I would love to go this summer. There's just something about being able to be outside and watching a movie at the same time!!

Oh i would love to go to one, and I know that I would love it =) As long as the car is comfortable and my bf is with me *hehehe*
Unfortunately we do not have drive-ins here at all, and I am almost positive that we never even did =(
Maybe that is a buisness idea - maybe I could open my own drive in =)

Hi,
We have a drive in about an hour from where I live.
Its closed now due to it being winter time.
But in the summer time we love to go there to watch the movies.. we love that at this one you can watch 2 movies. when the first one go's off they play another so its like a 2 for 1 almost.. its cheaper then the regular drive in.
and then its fun to be able to see the other screens playing at the same time. then you can kinda see if its something u would like to see the next time..
I remember the first time I ever went to a drive in, I was with my parents and my brother and we went to see E.T.
they are really fun I think, I like it alot better than a regular theatre.

I've been to one before. It's really cool and I'd rather watch movies at a drive-in. You can take your own stuff to eat, you stay warm enough or cool enough cause you can control your heat and a/c. And you aren't annoyed by people kicking your seats and stuff like that that happens at the regular theater. We actually have one not too far from us. They play like two or three movies when we go.

Oh I used to love to go to the drive-in when I was younger. My parents would let me take a friend or two. We would get into our pajamas and take blankets and curl up in the back seat to watch the shows. If we fell asleep we were ready for Mom and Dad to carry to bed once home! We would take homemade snacks and a thermos of hot chocolate! Oh it was wonderful. The only bad part was walking to the little building to use the restroom...I always felt like everyone was staring at me! Of course my Mom walked with me, but it was still odd! The drive-in closed before my teen years, so I don't have memories of necking at the drive-in like many people do! I do remember seeing some teens necking and asking my mom what they were doing. Now I know why she always got rather nervous and didn't answer me! I really wished we had a drive-in near my home now, I'd love to go to one again!

My older sister worked at a drive in for many years so I have spent countless nights there watching movies. I wish they still had one in the area. It would be nice to take the kids to a drive in movie just so they could experience it once.

A long time ago, and I mean a long time ago. Loved going to them, two shows and cartoons. Smooching with your boyfriend. None around here any more. Just the theaters, and they are an arm and a leg. So, the DVD is in, and that is what we do mostly. But, sure do miss the drive ins.

I know that my family took me to the drive in all the time when I was quite young. I really only remember going once. The other times, I must have been too young to really remember it. It seems like there aren't many drive-ins left around here now for me to go to, even if I wanted to, though. I did think that I read of one, and that really surprised me, because I thought that they were a thing of the past. I might be tempted to go if i had anyone to go with me, just to see what I would think about seeing a movie at a drive-in again after all these years! ^_^

wow, I loved going to the drive in movies. My Mom used to take us there almost every weekend. It was one of the affordable things we could do all together as a family. There was 8 of us all together.

I've been to one drive-In. I saw one of the Robo cop movies. I don't remember which one though. It was a cool experience. It was summer time in Washington State someewhere, and I was going to watch the movie laying down on the grass in my sleeping bag. but the bugs kept getting in my bedding so I just sat in the car. with my speaker on the window with the window up almost all the way. I hope when I am in Washington State next I can find another drive in to share with my husband and my son when my son gets a little older to enjoy the thought of watching the movie in the car. he's only 2yrs old and i don't even take him to the movies. he likes watching movies at home for now.

Depending on what part of Washington State you'd be going to, there is one in Everett, near 128Th...It's the one I referenced in my earlier post. It's a Swap Meet by day, drive-in by night...Before school lets out, starting around Memorial Day, it's only open Friday, Saturday, and I think Sunday nights...In late June/early July, they begin opening for business every night. It's called Puget Park Drive-In.

i have 2 different drive ins in a raduis of 30 miles from my house, and the one actually has 2 screens so they show 4 different movies there in one night. I absoulutely love the drive ins, because i can dress in my comfy close, each my own snacks, and smoke during the movie and i can talk during it withou gettins shhhhhhhed.

I used to go a lot as a kid...Even now, my wife and I go at least once or twice every summer. There's one about a mile from where we live that's open during the summer, from Memorial Day Weekend until about the end of September. Unfortunately, it's only one screen, but with your admission, you get to see both movies being shown that night. It's great now that we have a toddler; we can go to movies, enjoy a newer release, and if she acts up a bit, no one else in the theater is bothered. Plus, we can bring in our own snacks and drinks, so, a bit of a cost-saver.
My favorite drive-in that's currently open though is the one in Scottsdale/Tempe, where my parents live...It's open year-round, and has several screens, so you can choose which double-feature you want to see. I used to go there about once a month with friends.

Oh I loved the drive in. We would go and take a blanket and put the blanket on the lot next to the vehicle. We would sit on the blanket under the stars and watch the big screen. It was great and I wish they still had them today. I think more people would go to the movies as it was so much cheapr and much more enjoyable. You are so lucky to still have one.

Yes I have been to drive in. It quite nice. Perhabs it's just because I enjoyed the time being with the people I went when we watch the movie at the drive in.

The later drive-ins you would use your car radio to listen to the movie. Before that, you had to park along side of a pole in the ground and hook the speaker onto your car window.
