I need to know why People pay for day care these days? Do you actually make enough money to pay for it and is it worth it? I know some families make just enough for daycare..if you are working and your job just covers daycare then why dont you just stay home?

may be they find it difficult to stay at home or may be they think that job is necessity of them nd they r nt able to take care themself.so paying money is easy.

It really is going to depend on where you live and where you take your children for daycare. Many times a center is more expensive than an in-home daycare. I am a registered home daycare provider in Iowa. My rate is $2.25 per hour for one child (under school age) or $35.00 per week for before and after school care. That is consistant with other providers in the area. I am doing daycare for a living because I did not make enough at my job to justify paying a daycare bill for 2 children.

This was a hard choice for us. Although we don't have children, it was necessary to provide care for elderly relatives. After much soul-searching, I left my employment to care for my old ones. It was enormously stresful, both financially and emotionally, but looking back, I know in my heart it was the right decision. Assuring quality care for loved ones is essential. I know I wouldn't feel right if my dear ones weren't receiving the best possible loving, learning environment. This is so critical in your case, since your needs involve your precious children. One variable to also consider would be what you would be giving up in terms of future employment and earnings. Taking time out from the work force means losing opportunities for advancement which might serve you well in the future. It was worth it to me, but I sometimes wonder what might have been possible in my work life if I had chosen differently.
