I really can't tell the difference between these two. Aside from the obvious stuff (spelling, etc.), how does one differ from the other?

Viruses are nothing but programs which can spread from one program to another program whereas Worms can spread from one machine to the another machine. and Viruses attack are active. but worms attack are active and passive also. active means stealing some information from the remote computer and harming or corrupting the machine but passive means only taking some info and not corrupting it. i dunt knw much abt it. thx. good day.

n well one more point i would like to add ie., TROJAN is nothing but a horses name it was a wooden horse which was made as disguise to enter into the Enemies area and soldiers were residing in that TROJAN wooden horse night and at night they used to plan and attack their enemies. its just a disguise. and & intruder can place trojan file in ur machine and program it just like a compiler and can take ur info from ur machine. :) Try reading more on some webpages. good day!

I always thought worms and trojans are just the same thing. I do know about that Trojan horse thingy, so they are viruses that show themselves as legit applications.. hmm..

A trojen is the most powerfull virus program on internet .Embedded with other programs it can even transfer important data of the computer to third party .While worm have the generating program . It can even make it's duplicate files .By this way it can fill the hard disk completely .Also making the program to run slow the PC .

Hi. A virus is code written to intentionally cause distruction to your computer and a worm comes from corrupted files. I hope this helps you understand a little better.

Doesn't most viruses corrupt files? So it means that a worm is the result of a virus' dirty work? =/
