If you were friends with a person for over 5 years, then one day you're out shopping with them, and your friend calls a black person the "n" word, how would you handle it? You never knew the person was racist until after 5 years, and they finally admitted it. Would you continue to be friends with this person?

I depends on how it was used, & why. It also depends on experiences, as sometimes a bad incident or several bad incidents can cause racism. Thinking back to 9/11/2001, that caused a lot of people to become racist.

Once I have found that a friend can do that, well, I would try and find out the other dirfferences the two of us had that I was unaware of. If there were too many, and I found that there were chances of these differences creating tension and making me lose my peace of mind, I'd keep away from that friend. If racism were the only fault that my freind had, well I'd try and help him improve to get rid of, shall I say that malady? For that's what freinds are for, aren't they? To help friends?
