Well i believe in the success through hardwork. Though the luck counts a lot,but without hardwork it is meaningless.
Hardwork, aspiration, belief are the keys to success

I would like to succeed through hard work and smartness.I believe that success is a product of hardwork and smartness.I would not mind a bit of luck sometimes when I am going through hard time but I prefer to succeed through hard work.It is very satisfactory knowing that you are responsible for your own success.

i think we should have a perfect mix of both, luck for me is just a bonus so better to play it hard because i'm sure the result would be very rewarding..nothing beats he who work hard.

success always comes hand in hand with luck !! for success hard work always matter but what matter most is that your hard work count on the right time and right moment and for this you need luck.
Even you should be lucky enough to get the break you needed... hard work will make you successful !!
chain goes like this:
Work hard - Got a lucky break - work even harder - more opportunities comes down. In this world everybody works hard but only the lucky few are successful!!

There is a story I've heard, but I don't know its origin. One king wanted to know the same thing that you wanted to know. So he got hold of a lucky man and a hard working man and called them to the palace. Before that the kind made some "Kewum" which is a Sri Lankan food, sweet and shaped like a flying saucer with a small head on it. In this small head the king put a valuable gem. Then he put all the "Kewum" into a container and buried it well in a room. He then put the 2 men into this room and said that he is locking them up for 3 days.
The lucky man just waited for his luck to bring him something. But the hard working man kept searching and found the container of "Kewum". He ate some and threw the small head like part at the lucky man to tease him. Because of his hunger the lucky man ate this small part and found the gems.
After 3 days when the king released them the hard working man was well fed and robust. The lucky man was a little feeble, but rich with gems.

I have never been that lucky. Everything I am getting, I got through hard work. At this time, if I have the choice, I would like to have that share of getting successful by pure luck. It must feel great!
