Can anybody help me?

I have inherited a piece of what I am told is Carnival glass, though I must say I haven't seen anything comparable...around these parts at least. It is dinner-plate sized, with raised thistle destgns and other patterning. It has a fanned, fluted edging and is a deep plum/purple colour though this is covered by the mettalic black/silvery finish. My grandad was a Methodist Minister and was given all manner of chinaware as gifts from the 1930s, til the 1980s when he retired. This piece intrigues me the most and I would love any feedback..thanks.

I have a Carnival glass that I bought in 1968 for $6.00. In 1999 it was selling in a store for $75.00. Go in surch for chinaware and price and see what sites comes up. You might try "surch" for carnival glassware and find a website that gives history and price of your peice. good luck!!

How lucky are you to get something that sounds so nice from your Grandfather. Perhaps if you could include a photo some might be able to help you to identify it. Also check on online sites like eBay and see if you can find anything similar. Good luck with identifying it.
