Yes I think it does make their star go up. I have just started rating people myself. So thats good if you are doing that. And give me a good rating.

It sure does! I try and rate every comment i recieve, but like you if the comment is a one word answer or it has nothing to do with my discussion then i give negative. As far as i know best response also increases earnings and also has an effect on the star rating. Mind you, i know how time consuming it can be, i just try and get there when i can!! Oh i also rate when i am reading the comments in a topic i have responded too. Not sure if you knew about that one also. Happy posting and have a great day!!!

I am just going to add my two cents worth and say that rating the actualdiscussion as well as the responses is the thing to do. Best responses also help to up the star rating. Obviously you have great responses etc as you are a *ten*

I think it helps their star rating go up and I do also rate responses from my discussions and all the discussions that I respond to.

I am not really sure if it helps the stars but I rate everyone who leaves m a reply just in the way of a thank you xx

I am nor really sure by rating ones response will help him in any way as far as score or star is concern. But I am sure by rating ones discussion as the bsst one, I think you are making a lot of difference to the person whose discussion has been rated as the best one! I don't mean the benefits he is deriving from Mylot! I am taliking about the feelings what a person undergoes! When a response is rated besty then you are unknowingly increasing ones Morales, his morales are boosted up, he experiences an unknown happiness, his confidence level increases , his minds positive side of thinking gets activated and he strts believing in himself and the brotherhood and humanity in general in a positive way! Who doesn't like apprecioation? By getting appreciation once body chemicals get balanced and there develops a 'Feel good' element in him! So just by rating a single discussion you are doing so much of difference in ones life! Don't you think this is a big help in bringing in some improvement in some unknown and strangers life? Thanks ! i think it does help pebbles. i have always made it a habit to rate everyone.so far i've only given negative rating less than 5times. almost everyone who responds to my discussions gets a positive rating from me as long as the responses are not one line or one word. but it is the best response mark that has a big impact on the user's rating.

This is another myLot mystery. I think rating is there for a purpose and it can help or not help a users reputation and if I am correct that is what your star is based on. So I think yes it does make it go up or down.

i think it must put their start ratings on increase, I dont know it exactly because none of us (members) know what is algorithgm usef by mylot, when it started I was keen for my star to be rated 10 but it started with 8 and if I spend two days with around 140 postings in these 2 days, I get 8 again, currently its 7

yes, it does. when i found out about that i started to rate responses. but i very rarely rate anyone (-). if i don't like the response i just dont rate it.

WOAH U CAN RATE RESPONSES. that must be what the + - ! is for. i am going to start rating responces because i really wish i could have done that with MANY MANY responses in the past. ones that i liked and some that i just thought were dumb. PEBBLES GETS A + FOR BRINGING THIS TO MY ATTENTION ^-^

I rate every post positive if I think it's useful and I only rate it negative if I really think that it's just a stupid, unhelpful or spam post. But I don't rate everything I find.
