Getting babys ears peirced

In our country, Indonesia, before you deliver your baby girl, some hospital do give you the option for your baby's ears to be peirced when you want it. I have no clue about the health issue here, but the fact that they allow this in the early age makes me think, it's probably okay.

I've been really interested in this subject my-self. My Pediatrician does ear piercing and I was told thatthe best timeto getthem done is after there 3rd set of shots so thatway they're not prone to getan infection that they can not handle. I am def. gettin my baby girls ear's pirced at her next dr. apt... IM SO EXCITED!!! Getting there ears pierced at a young age is also very good because they learn that they are there and they do not rip them out, its an everyday thing for them!!! No, Im one of the odd ones that think it's not ok. First of all, a lot of moms will say how they cry when their babies get shots but yet they are going to choose to have a needle put through their ears? There is no reason for it except that it's "cute" but do you REALLY think the baby thinks or cares that it's cute? No, all they care about is the pain that it's going to cause, even after the procedure is done there is still a bit of pain for a few days, and then what if it gets infected? My daughter is almost 2 1/2 and I want it to be her decision whether she wants her ears pierced or not. Whenever she comes up to me and says she wants them pierced i will take her to have it done, but I want it to be her decision because it is her body!...BTW, I have lots of body piercings and tattoos myself but still feel this way about getting babies pierced!

I wouldnt myself I would worry about infections and what if they came loose and got swollowed. I would wait till they were older
