you should support him as you normally would, he probably needs your friendship now more then ever.

Why would you be scared of him?? It's not like he's contagious or anything, nothing has changed except that now you know about his preference. He's still the same person he's always been but probably will need some support from his family and friends because people WILL be looking at him differently. Hopefully you can be there for him.

I will take a guess and say that you are still in Junior/High school? If so, just remember that when you get older, these sort of things don't bother you as much. Being scared of your friend is really childish actually lol. If you stop being friends with him, that must mean you were not good friends with him in the first place. If one of my best friends told me this information, I would be flattered because he trusted me well enough to tell me his secret. Again, this is not something that should turn you against him.
