Is it normal for your parents to say lol?

Well whenever I go places and can't get a lift home I would text my parents and they would write back n stuff and if we ever got into a convo they would sometimes use "lol". Is that normal :S

about as normal as a convo really. I've only picked up on forum abbreviations like LOL, GSOH, ROFL and SHMBO in the last few years and now see it combined with textspeak. That's progress I suppose. :(
