Is the McLaren F1 still the fastest production car in the world? I know it held the distinction for many years but with the competition getting hotter each year I was not sure if the McLaren F1 was still the fastest production car out there.

I think the fastest production car is an unlimited Ferarri Enzo it can go up to 280 miles of 448 km/h.That very fast,i don't think Veyron could go that fast because the enzo has much better aerodanamisc that veyron even it has 1001 hp and 1250 nm of torque.

Are you sure an Enzo does 280mph? According to this site, it is a little closer to 225?

the enzo does in 280 in its dreams =))
to reach that kind of speed you need 1000+ hp
and it itsnt more aeroynamic than the veyron
the veyron is the current fastest car it does 253MPH 0-60 in 2,5 sec.
there is a new rival
the melling hellcat. they say it will do 270-280
and it has 1100+ hp. i have my doubts it will be better than the veyron

Not even close anymore. The current fastest car is the Bugatti Veyron. Check out this cool video on the car...
