Mylot best response

Since I'm new here to mylot and am still learning I just ran across another question. When do you rate a response as the best? Do you wait 24 hours, less, longer? Someone just rated one of my responses as the best, which I greatly appreciate, however just wondering what is the customary time line?

Everyone does it differently. I'll usually wait a few days, since it takes that long for responses to my posts to die down. Some people do it as soon as they have the information they need, if they're asking a question of some sort. Some people never choose a best response. It really all depends on what you're comfortable with and how much information you're looking for. Good luck!

Thank you for your response, any reason as to why some never pick a best response? Self explanatary if they didn't receive any responses or they received a few but question not answered. Does that close the discussion when the best response has been given?

I usually wait four or five days before marking the best response, as it gives people time to participate in the discussion. I then mark the best response, and for the responses which are good but not the best, I rate with a '+'. BTW well done on getting one of your responses marked the best. Keep it up and it will increase the amount you earn here.

Thank you for your response. I like to make more money. I also like the idea of waiting a few days to give people ample time to comment on the discussion. Good luck to you!

As far as i know there are no time lines you can rate a response the best anytime you like.

Thank you for your response. It seems to be the general concensus that you can give it whenever you want.

It usually depends on how many people reply. For example some of my discussions only have a few replies so im still waiting to mark them best response so that someone else can have a chance to answer, but some i had a few responses quickly. Also, sometimes you get a really good answer and know then that you want to choose it as best response.

I like the fact that it is all up to me. Thank you for responding.

I have a lot of unresolved discussions. Many are unresolved because I am hoping for a few more responses and some are unresolved because I am hoping for any responses at all. I usually go through mine once or twice a month, unless something jumps out at me before that. Then I might give out the best response sooner.

I have no time limit that I wait for, I go by how good the response is, and feel the person deserves it. Yes there are times I do get better ones but I am sure we all go through this. There are times that I wait too long and then it is too late and I feel bad because I cannot change it, so I just go with my gut now and do it .

I try to leave mine a we while until the responses are dwindling a we bit then I choose , Its a shame to pick it too quick and you then have really good answers come in xx

This is another trip down "Memory Lane" for me because the Best Response selection is yet another factor of the old Mylot that I had forgotten. I think it was probably a wise decision for Mylot to discontinue this practice because there were always some members who would constantly select a response by a personal friend, however good or poor the response was. I have known quite a few members to become very upset and angry about that practice.

@beaniefanatic13 Surprising how easily we tend to forget prior features once we have become accustomed to a different approach.

I completely forgot about the best response feature also. I agree that it was abused as many things from the old mylot were. The new format seems to be working quite well.

Okay, i'll admit it, i'm bad. LOL this last weekend i went through all my unresolved discussions, which were numerous and picked best responses for them, and commented where i'd missed before. I'm a lot better now about picking a best response after a couple of days, but i like to give it awhile. Unless it's one of those discussions from forever ago that someone finally replied to, then i pretty much immediately give them best response, as well, they're they only ones that responded. LOL But i do like to wait a little bit, or procrastinate a little bit..either way.

Now see you consider your self bad for getting right on it, and I considered myself bad for giving it to quickly, LOL. So we are all different. This was an old discussion that got brought back to life, I gave the best response away the day after I started it. I no longer do that, I just wait until the perfect response to me comes in that resolves the discussion. At this time their is only on older discussion that hasn't been picked. It probably helps to that I don't start a lot of discussions and am able to commit a bit of time to reading and responding where need be, rating everyone and marking in my notebook the responses that are worthy of a best response. So since their is no time limit I have opted for the wait and see. This may change though if I ever have pages of discussions to resolve, as I can't stand to feel like I'm procrastinating here. :)

I marked discussions with best response after one week or more. With this i will have more chances of choosing the best one. I had alot of unresolved discussions because some of them only have 1 to 2 responses. As far as i know, there is no deadline for choosing the best response, as long you have not chosen what's best for you, you still have to wait for more responses. I think i got around 10 to 11 responses chosen as best response, and i feel happy for this.

This discussion was really old and I thank you for responding. I no longer just through them away, as this discussion was brought back to life many of mine have done the same. In the beginning I just gave them away after the responses stopped coming in, now I just leave the discussions that I feel are still unresolved until I get the perfect response. It takes awhile but seems to be going quite well. I just have one older discussion that is unresolved, it eventually will get resolved. :) Again thank you for responding.

Yeah, maybe i just need more time to resolve this problems. I will be waiting for more response from MyLot members. That time, as soon as i get the best response, i will be more happy. Thank's for your time and for reading my response! Have a nice day!

I tend to wait until the responses stop coming in. But this is entirely up to you.

I dont have any time line for accepting a best response. I wait till i get the best possible answer. In case i dont get the best response, i accept the best among the responses i got.. The time limit can be a week.
