Is stealing music morally wrong? I'm an eighteen year old college student, and while iTunes has made music cheaper, I have no qualms about downloading things on a P2P filesharing system. Thoughts?

If it were my music, I'd be flattered that someone was so eager to listen to my music they stole it. But since so many bands are no longer in it for the music, only money, we know that isn't the case. I find it to be in that moral grey area, as I'm rather indifferent to the suffering of millionaires.

It hurts more when you're the one making the music. Me, I download lots of stuff off the net. You name it I got it: ebooks, tutorials (the ones with videos), movies, anime, software. I feel a little guilty. But I just muffle thtat guilt with watching the latest anime download.

Morally questionable maybe, but "stealing" music only bothers the people that make millions from music. They really don't need it, they just want it. P2P software is great, you can find all kinds of files.
