Darren Shan is a teen fiction author but his Cirque Du Freak series really impressed me. The last book in the series, Sons of Destiny, was a nice wrap up but I'm not too sure about the Demonata series. It seems a little cluttered and hard to follow at times, maybe I am just too used to the Cirque Du Freak series.
If you are into vampire fiction, the Cirque series is a nice read. It is listed as teen fiction but I found it well written and tearing through the books in a couple of hours.

I adore all of Darren Shan's books so far..though Cirque Du Freak will probably always be my favorite.
If it's possible I think the Demonata series may be darker than the Cirque Du Freak was. I'm not sure though..there've only been two books so far..so I dunno heh.
Sons of Destiny was a nice last book for the series..it was a clssic opt out of just ending the events period and leaving the readers theorizing about what could've happened next.

I really think that he will pick up the series in a couple of years. Evanna is going to have twins .. or triplets .. that opens the door to a lot more plots.

Writers don't -tend- to have a habit of picking up series' they've previously ended..but we can hope, it does happen occasionally ^_^ it'd be very interesting to see which direction things would head with Evanna's children thrown into the mix.

I have read the Darren Shan Saga and thoroughly enjoyed it, I was about half way through the series before I found out that it came under the heading 'Young Adult'.
While I was reading them my 12 year old daughter was asking questions all the time so I told her that she could read them when I was finished, she has since read them at least three times start to finish. We haven't read any of the Demonata series yet, I am planning on waiting until there are a few more out as I hate reading a book then having to wait for what seems like ages before reading the next.

The ones in the Demonata series are coming out faster than I thought. So far four of them have come out but I have only been able to get two of them so far. I got lucky with the Cirque series; when I discovered it there were only two or three books left to go in it so I managed to get the earlier ones at the library.
