Why do people think that blonds are stupid?

Because many stupid brunetts are bleach blonds:) I wouldn't date jerks who are telling blond jokes.

It probably started happening as a result of pop culture. I fyou think back, all of the most "beautiful" and "sexy" actresses in Hollywood and on television were "blonde bombshells" all of whom liked to pretend to be ditzy thinking it was endearing. Negative portrayls of women by fellow women really do hurt our image in the eyes of the world. Still that shows a lack of class to attempt to pick up a girl or start a date out by insulting her inteligence. I would say don't bother with those guys.

It started in the old days when blonde actresses were made to portray "women in despair," the type of women who were just dependent on men and don't even think for themselves. I think this has just become typecasted, like the bomshell Marilyn Monroe. Beauty but no brains (but they get on because they are beautiful anyway). This went on and on, the "dumb blonde" syndrome being carried on up to now by Paris Hilton and Jessica Simpson
