Afraid to take responsibility..... ?

I dont know why i am so much afraid to take responsibility. I am working in a s/w industry .I know i have good knowledge & ability to work ,even my senior praises my work..But when it comes to take control of a task , or to take responsibility of new task i am very much afraid..I always need some one to guide me..Can anyone suggest how can i again more confidence ?

Life is very funny. The situation expressed by you is experienced by me too. Later on I made up mind that I will take up challenges and responsibilities. From the distance, they look scary and difficult. Once you get into it, it becomes easy with your enthusiasm, hardwork and taking others' guidance. So do not hesitate, take up the responsibility!! You will do it.
