Do You or Would You Drink Recycled Water?

Hi,
A big issue at the moment where I live is drinking recycled water (that is, water which has been recycled from sewage). Australia is a very dry country and we have been through a severe drought - we are running out of water in Sydney and one option is recycleing our sewage. I know in other parts of the world such as in Orange County California and Namibia people have been drinking reccyled watre for a while now. So - what are your thoughts?

There is nothing strange in your discussion. Everybody on planet Earth drinks recycled water. Water everywhere including garbage is taken to the skies as vapour and contribute in the formation of clouds. This falls back to the earth and is collected by the people to drink. So why not drink recycled water?

Oh - I agree that the whole Earth's water is "recycled". I just think it's a psychological barrier people have which causes the aversion to recycled sewage. There is a difference in people's minds of what that has been recycled directly from sewage for example, then dumped into a "natural" water source like a river or creek and then extracted again (indirect recycled potable water) and a direct supply into the water supply system.

recycled water can be used for acriculture-however i could never drink that water-i prefer mineral water

I am not sure that in India where I am living, there is recycled water or not.

I wouldn't be too thrilled about drinking recycled sewage. That would just gross me out. If push came to shove, I would boil it first. In the end, you do what you have to do, doesn't mean you have to like it.
