Books: Do you think it is still important? Why do we need books and why should it better than online information we see everyday? Why do read books? alot of people out there find reading novels and other type of literature boring because it is too much word to only mean one simple thing.
Should we be alarmed that more and more kids arent into books anymore and prefer to research online for stuff about school?
Do you still enjoy reading paperbacks and hardcovers?
Do you think that the importance of books have deteriorated now that ebooks are available and internet gives out so much information that you dont have to go research book by book anymore?
How important are books, novels and stuff to you still? And why is it important?

Hey sechsey!! Books can never be replaced by info on net though internet is vastly expanding and is shrinking all the information of this world
The reasons I prefer books to net
1. Reading books can be done even when you sleep , when you eat..lolzz. But online stuff needs eye starin using computers or laptops
2. Though there are ebooks, one can’t sit and read 500 or 600 pages in a system and they will have to resort to print outs for large number of pages, whereas buying books is cheaper and portable.
3. It is wonderful to own a library collection of books rather than have thousands of online novels. The hardcover books value is always there and nothing can replace them.
4. Internet info provides only overview of many fields of engineering. It is the books which explain things clearly. Online books too can’t be studied all the way through computer.
These reasons make hardcover books always a step ahead of online books.
Cheers

Wow Sechsey! Very Nice to know that we both share the same tastes. I love to see my collection of books in a glass cupbpoard stacked beutifully . I have hundredes of books in my home library. I am trying to make it in thousands. Also, I love to maintain the books by covering the books with transparant plastic sheets for a book cover. This will make the books intact for more than 20-30 years without tearing at any place. You can get transparant sheets in rolls in any stationary shop!!
Cheers,
Nithya

The importance of reading books is gaining new insight or perspectives on issues that matter to the reader that helps them to have a new understanding of the world around them. Readers can apply the insight in everyday life or as a way of building upon the knowledge that already encompasses their mind and enrich their lives.
The importance of books are also found in how new discoveries pertaining to history are uncovered and/or revealed where the relevance of this the new information needs to be applied or amended in what already exists about a particular issue, topic or event. Thus, "new" books on existing issues are important because sometimes facts "change."

Books were the windows to the world during the last century. The onslaught of the internet and visual media shake the empire of written letters and we started getting glued to electronic media whether T.V. OR Internet.
But the books are still relevant since you can read the same at leisure anywhere and everywhere, mark and make notings , read again , and above all it is soothing for the eyes.one cannot read for hours together in the monitor and that may damage your eyes and health. Traveling time is the time to read books. you can' t do that with a laptop for obvious reasons discomfort and cost.
Importance of books have still not deteriorated and you can see the Book "You can Win" by shiv khera selling like hot cakes though many a seminar was conducted by him based on the book. Books are for reference too except those trash thrillers. We cannot avoid books and they may stay here for ever.

A request can u please make the post short. Anyways, I love books and they are of great importance to everyone. Even i feel they have lost their popularity just because of ebooks available online.
I still enjoy the paperbacks and hard covers. These things will be important to me always as they are what i started with before comps.

I own over two thousand books, hard cover and soft. I have sixteen e-books. There is nothing that can compare to the relaxation of a book in your hands when you are settling down for bed and just want that little quiet moment. E-books for information or learning may be alright, but I did not get the same feelings or impressions as a good old ear marked, worn out hardcover.

Answering your questions
Yes, I think they still are important, they are knowledge, good stories, they add to us.
It is easier and better to read a book, for example a 500 page one on paper than online. Reading online is tiring.
Research is one thing that made online I see no problem, they are reading after all, I think that children should read more.

although a lot of people now have access to computers and the internet, we have to admit that majority of the people around the globe don't have access to one or haven't even touched one. so books still play a very important role in the learning society. as one mentor puts it, books will never go obsolete because it is using the most advance microprocessor ever, our brain.

Books were, are and will be important forever... Its the hard copy which u can carry everywhere, nomatter where u are but the laptops, if u are talking about e-books, there is a lot of time till everybody gets access to this.
but, yes, u can say that it had lost its importance in recent times, but u can be sure that it is not going to lose itself in the space... u know still now everybody reads the newspaper in the early morning n its gonna continue for a long time period...
Novels are very much important in my life yaar...its the oxygen for me.. I jus cant live widout it...
I cant go surfing all over net n get the good thing for me all the time, coz u know even LCDs are bad for ur eyes..Its raidtions are even more dangerous than the CRTs...
So books are not goig to loose its importance

Books are very important. I spend a lot of time online, but I also have 3 bookshelves full of my favorite novels. And my children, who each have a computer in their room (not internet connected!) both love to read books. They spend a lot of time curled up on the couch with their favorites. As for reseach and non fictions, I think those are will be forever important too.

It is still important to supplement any information on the internet and not all have internet connection at home. For me I use both books and the internet because i think i can gather a lot of information when I used any kind of information printed or not printed.

Books are classic items that provide very useful information ranging from elaborate facts to little chitchats. It's a very useful way to learn information for everyday living.
With the innovation we are in now, it's ineveitable for younger ones to not rely on easy-to-find research. E-books are more practical to use for speedier research-finding than relying on hard to find, hardbound books.
I do still think that books still be continued to use.

I love reading books why it is the good source of the knowledge to me. If i am not familiar to the word i have a time to go to dictionary unlike to the internet i need to save my time because it is really expensive, the mosr concern about using the online is the electricity the load on the internet, i am using a card load when i like to go to the internet. So prefer to use the book.

Yes I do think books are still important. Researching on the internet is one thing - I do that for a living and my life is 100% easier with the Internet. But when it comes to relaxing or covering a large amount of knowledge on one topic - give me a book!
