How you came to know your parents are proud of you

I know everyone always says, "stop saying they're not, your parents are VERY proud of you" but i dont see it. i dont understand how my parents can be proud of me, when my sister is now 20 years old, all her life shes wanted to be a pastry chef, and now she goes to the culinary institute of america. its the best and one of the most expensive schools in the world. but what do i have going for me? i have been out of school for a year now, i cant keep a job and i want to become a tattoo artist or piercer. its what ive always wanted to do, but my parents dont want to pay for it. they say they dont have the money becasue jessie's school costs so much. im 18 years old, i cant keep a job, im not going to school, i drive around and hang out with my friends. and yes, im intellegent i have excellent street smarts, and im very opinionated. im great in debates and i know what im talking about. it just seems like my parents dont actually see the intellegence that i even though im not as 'well off' and 'educated' as my sister. they never think back to when my sister was in like 9th grade and i was in 8th and i was teaching my sister/helping her with spelling. How about when i won the CAPT writing award? how about the fact that i have a college student IQ by the time i was in 8th grade. i just feel liek theres no way they can be proud of me. becasue i dont know what i want to do with myself... that they will approve of.

well when i was in high school, i cut all the time, got bad grades, and got pregnant, now i have my own house, my husband works hard and he's the father of all 3 of my children, my parents are very proud of me they let me know by the way they treat me they don't have 2 tell me i just know.

I accidentally heard them talking to my aunts, uncles and also grandma. They were telling them good things bout my career and stuffs i'm doing right now. I didn't know there are actually proud of me until i heard them myself.
