Why do we leave certain topics in exams though we read to gain knowledge

All of us leave certain topics while preparing for exams... Though our motive is to Gain knowledge. Why??? Arent we lossing out??

this becaus eof our wrong thoughts and we are just studying for marks,positions,points.

Well we are competing for marks n from that point of view they are dropped but they are also of same importance whether in life or in any competitive exam/entrance

You have to compromise some thing some times. You won't get certified if your score is well below for passing. For a weight lifter he lift whatever he can at his max capacity, otherwise his bones will break
