The best technique would be to sepearate them for a few years ( Just hope they dont die n make sure they'r fed properly ) and thats when the goldfishes become desperate... n you put them back...... n BANG u'll have thousands of kiddy goldfishes.........

Goldfish actually Spawn when the water heats up. If you can get an aquarium heater and heat the water only a few degrees (c) warmer, then turn it off.
If your fishes start to chase one another, you will find that you have both males and females.
The females will have quite full tummies so look a lot more fat than the male.
If you do have both sexes, be sure to watch them in the mornings as you will need to collect the eggs after the male has fertillised them. Otherwise they eat them up !

there really isnt a "technique" as it were.
but in order for them to breed you must make sure that their environment is ideal...that is water temperature, Ph levels...places to hide, etc.
making them feel comfortable will certainly encourage them, and they will go about their business all on their own.
