I'm talking illegal immigrants, abortion, pro-bush/anti-bush, death penalty, and anything else you can think of that happens to fall under the category of a subject that's constantly debated, hated, and despised in every sense. Even politics to an extent, and religion.
Are they necessary evils? Do we really need the constant debating, the constant struggle between valid and invalid arguments? And furthermore, are we ever really going to come to a conclusion?
Sometimes I wonder if the world would be a better place if we as humans could exist without such crappy "blanket statements". Under certain circumstances, "touchy" issues and their perspectives can change. Their meanings can change. Logically, it makes sense to get rid of all these things because of all the disorder and ordered chaos they create, and I don't really qualify them as a "necessary evil", but I think you, the readers should discuss (not flame!) the pros and cons of the EXISTENCE of said issues. Not the actual things themselves.
I hope to find a little bit of moral enlightenment from this discussion. Hopefully you will too.

i agree that the world would be a better place if such "blanket statements" didnt exist. how many wars/murders etc. have been waged due to the thought of "im right and your wrong"??
for some reason mankind as a general whole needs a sense of right or wrong. whether their version is right or not (and who is to say that for sure?!), it is a justification for their actions.
ive never understood why many stubborn ppl insist on the "black or white" and plain refuse to even consider that there are shades of gray in between that connects the two.
lol hope that made sense!

It does! I hope more people respond to this, honestly.
Look at the crusades, you're more than right.
Those blanket statements are kinda frustrating in that they do provide for a generalization that's not always true.
The reason we have "Black Or White" is because we have engineers. =]
