10 years ago , I was in a coma and had 11 surgeries performed while I was in that sleep . Because of my immobility , none of the scars healed well . I can't understand why medical insurance wouldn't cover the expense of having these scars corrected . I've spent countless years trying to find some sort of organization that would help pay for them , but have had absolutely no luck . I only find agencies that help children and most of those only help children in other countries . well what about me . My life has been severely affected . Does anyone have a similiar story or know of any place that I can go for some help ?

It sounds like you are in the usa and I don't know about your health system but I work in operating theatres and can relate to your story. Is there anyway you can apply to get the treatment done abroad? In the uk if the scars have caused depression or other problems they will usually do corrective surgery for free but its a completely different system here. All I can suggest is that you perhaps write to the american sugery associations, etc and see if they know of a solution. I know many surgeons want to try new surgical techniques and they may offer to do the surgery for free or at a reduced cost if you are happy with that.
Sorry, I dont know what else to suggest, I hope you get some kind of help.
