Did you see where an airline has fired stewardess for posting picures on her blog? She took pictures onthe plane, of herself only and not nudity pictures either. They fired her. Do you think they should be able to do this?

I think that if she knew before posting the pictures that it was against airline policy that she should be fired. Even if we think that this is a ridiculous rule I'm sure that the airline would have their reasons. If there was no such policy then no, she shouldn't have lost her job and the airline might have cause to be sued.

That was my thinking as well - it depends on what the airline policy was. If there was a clear confidentiaility policy, than the pictures would be in breach of that and she should be fired. I guess we may never know.

That sounds kind of silly for them to fire her over that unless she had intent to harm someone. People find the silliest reasons to be mean these days. It's really sad.

How odd. I think the whole world is becoming way too precious. As you say if they were risqué photographs, one could understand. But this sounds like an over the top reaction to me.

I heard about that BS. I hope she hires a lawyer and sues the balls of that airline. Wish there was something we could do to put a stop to that...ya know, like a petition or boycott or something.

It really depends. To me it sounds harmless but what if she innocently took a picture of herself by the cockpit door and you could see how the locks were set up or something. It could give terrorists a better idea of how to break in. As a military wife, I receive tons of cute pictures of my husband from Iraq but I can't post most of them onto my blogs because of seemingly inconspicuous landmarks and whatnot. Some have equipment in the background, albeit unclassified info but it could show the bag guys how things are situated on base. If she just took a pic say by a row of passenger seats I don't see what the big deal is. I'm an aviation g33k and I would probably have done the same thing myself because I love airplanes and being in them. So I would have to see those pics for myself to give you a better answer because I can't say whether they overreacted or not even though my heart says they did.

They shouldn't be able to fire her for that. I could see if they were naked pictures but not just because she had clothes on. What's it to the airline anyway. It wasn't like it was going to hurt them in anyway. I think if I were her I would sue the airline. May then they would think twice about firing someone for nothing.

I don't think it was right no , I really don't think they allow anyone to take pictures on an aeroplane though and she should have known that , I think its because of secrecy or something like that , a bit harsh though that they fired her . maybe they had a friend in mind for her job lol xx

That doesn't sound fair! Not if it was only pictures of herself (and decent at that) and no one else.. I don't know, I don't see the harm of them being on her blog.. If they were afraid of a stalker stalking her onto the plane or something, they could talk to her about it.. IF that was a concern.. Little extreme to fire her over the whole deal!

I saw this on the news the other night. They showed the pictures and everything and I didn't see anything that even smacked of being inappropriate at all. They were not sexy pictures, and she didn't even identify the airline. I think that the airline was remiss in doing this. I also think that what an employee does on their own time is their own business.

Perhaps they had a clause that disallows photos of the inside of the plane taken by the employees. Who knows what really went on. I wonder if she signed a contract and if she so, did she read everything on the contract.

I don't understand people. Knowing that jobs are hard to come by, why would someone fire someone over such a little thing. Did they think the inside of a jet was top secret? I don't understand the firing...but you know people with power, aren't always the brightest.

It depends on what the state laws are in her state, and also whether or not she has a contract that prohibits it. I think it is probably an extreme reaction toward the security standards we have to have these days.

I suppose they have rules and perhaps reasons (security) why pictures cannot be taken on the plane. I personally think things have gotten out of hand anyways with companies firing people for posing naked or pictures coming up on the net. Your personal life is not their business but anymore they seem to think it is. I think once again the big guys overstepped their boundaries and think they can run the little guy 24/7.

I think they can simply because she was at work and it showed her in uniform on company property.
