have you tried google talk? how about ym (yahoo messenger)? ive tried both so ill try to give a review. ym is an instant messenger made by yahoo. it is easy to use, it update intervals are quite reasonable but at times, it could be disappointing. it offers a good feature like my favorite, mobile phone sign ups. you get notified via an sms about how many friends are online. google talk takes longer to update the text screen. it is easier to use than ym but since it is still under development, it is not a feature-packed as ym. but you can expect a bright future for this one.
