To spank or not to spank?

There shoudl be limitations as to when to spank a kid. There are times that the child really need to be spank at extreme behaviours but not at all time, this will have an effect to the kid, worst can be traumatic.

I remember my grandma arguing with my parents about their ways of disciplining us. I dont have a kid at the moment but i do believe in giving a hand to your kid in a right manner. when we were little, my dad would always ask us to lay down on the floor, upside down. he would then start asking us what happened and what went wrong. after the discussion and after making us realize the part where we done wrong. he wound then start spanking us in the butt... for us to remember and not to do those things anymore. Hitting a kid in the hand specially in the head, that's a different story. Disciplining a child has different ways. Like asking your child to face the corner for a certain period of time.. and hitting them in a drastic manner for me is really the worst thing you can do a child. The only thing that will register into their minds would be the trauma and fear not the sole purpose of making their wrong acts into a right one.

To spank, most of the time, is the adult venting their anger in a physical manner towards the child. It isn't the best way to disipline. But, a small smack on the butt is a good way with a toddler, as you cannot reason with them, as you can an older child.
