Life after cancer.... do you feel like you are different?

I survived cancer in 2003 and again in 2006. I was lucky in that I had a more treatable cancer, but I still have been through surgery and chemotherapy (2003) and then radiation in 2006. I feel like my senses are a little dulled and nothing excites me very much anymore. Work can be challenging but it isn't "exciting" like it used to be. I need to find that perspective again where I appreciated the little things around me. Has anyone gone through a big life event and found it hard to re-adjust? I don't think I'll ever be the person I used to be. I'm fairly happy now, but feel like I've changed a lot.

Hello janieJetz, Don't ever feel down. I just completed chmotherapy myself in january, after only 4 months of chemotherapy i am in remission, It was very frightening of my diagnosis, but i always stayed positive. Go on a vacation or just sit there and think about how great it is that you are not beddridden so many cancer patients undergo treatmenst and can no longer carry on with life. I myself, feel so blessed to be able to do everyday activities. i am not 100% in love with my job anymore myself, Hey if you can look for employment somewhere else if its not an option just thank god for the job you have. i can understand the loss of enthusiasm.. But remember you beat cancer and that is GREAT!!!!
