what do you prefer:a cat or a dog and why?

well to be exact i prefer them both,thats why i have 2 cats and a dog:)......what about you?

i love cats (mine over all, of course), i like theme, how they move and how the meeeeeoooowwww and puuurrrrr :D, and i think they are much independent then dogs ;)

I don't think I could choose between the two. I like both cats and dogs. But given my current situation if I had to choose one over the other. I'd choose cats. Mainly because I already have six cats and they basically take care of their own selves. A little water. A little food. A litter box. Pet now and then and they're perfetctly content.

youre right cats are more independent,my littel kitty just knows how to cheer me up when im sad and when i cry she comes next to me and puurs and liks me i just love her

i have cats and dog piitzy. i like both pets. i think if i have to choose only one, ill choose my dog. dogs are much more responsive and sweet than cats. they are more active too.

I prefer a cat,because she don't need many things like dogs do!you don't have to go for a walk with her 3 times on a day,and she is more obedient!

I have cats at the moment as I am working full time and don't have time to care for a dog properly but it is a difficult question for people to descide which one they would like to have. I have put down some feelings at www.helium.com/tm/98824 that might interest people if they check it out.

I like cats and dogs although I only have cats (5) at the moment. I live in an apartment and I feel it is too small for a dog. I'm not able to take a dog for the exercise it would need and I feel it would be unfair to him. If I ever own a house with a big yard for him to play in, I would gladly own a dog.

Cats! I don't have to walk or bathe them. They can also sleep for hours and never create a racket. They are also soft, cuddly, smart and lovable. I'll take cats any day.

nice answer but some people dont like them because they leave hair all over the house and sometimes they give you nasty scratches:)but i still love them anyway

i had a dog once but never a cat, and i think dogs make better pets, they're just so much more playful and loyal, but i don't wanna judge cats, even they are playful and soft and cuddly.

youre wrong about the palyful thing some cats are very "crazy"and they play all day,it depends on how you teach her to be,but youre right about the loyal part.....allthough my cat is loyal to me:)

I prefer cats, they are cleaner and more independent. In an apartment, definitively a cat, you cannot keep the place clean with a dog and also you need constantly to pay attention to it. Also I dislike the dogs' habit to leak around, to jump onto people and, generally, being over-friendly
