We had my beloved Alaskan Husky cremated. We have his urn sitting in the front room where he loved to be. He keeps our present Sibes company at night.
We decided to do this because he will always be with me. I brought him over to Scotland from Alaska because I couldn't bear to be apart from him. He spent many happy years here with us. Amani will be buried with me when my time comes. He has been gone over 2 years now and I still talk to him. I still feel him here. There are times when I can smell him. He is so much a part of meand it is a comfort knowing he is still with me.

Thank you for sharing. My husband isn't ready yet to make the decision, but I think he is leaning towards cremation, just for the same reason you stated, she'll be with us always.

I actually work for a lady that does pet cremation. We are always careful in handeling the pets and in labeling them. We don't want any kind of mix up. All of us that work with her have lost pets that we cared a lot for so we are all full of comfort. This is also a family owned and operated buisness.
When we do privet cremations it is just your one pet that gets done and the remains are put into a plastic bag before they are put into the urn (just incase the urn ever breaks.) Group cremations are spread over a 100 acre area that this lady owns. There are all kinds of urns to choose from, and if you don't get the remains back, you can get a plaque with whatever you want engraved on it. After working with her, I am thinking about having my dog cremated when his time comes.

I haven't had any pet cremated, but if I did and owned my own property, I would. I would create a particular place in my garden to spread the ashes of my favorite pet. There I would add plants that would bring me joy. The plants would be a reminder of the joy that my beloved pet brought me.

Sorry, I have never cremated a pet but my mother in law and father in law wad cremated and it was terribly hard on the family. It was their wishes to be done this way.

its kindda hard to bury a full grown dog in the garden here so most people cremate. My parents lost a beagle and they cremated her. When the ashes were delivered to the house in a very nice urn, my mum decided she would bury the ashes instead in the corner the dog loved the most. Till this day, for some reason the rest of the dogs will never step on that particular spot of ground.

I haven't but a friend of mine just recently lost her cat and had him cremated. She has his ashes on her mantle. They currently have 2 other cats, and her husband asked, 'How many urns are you going to be buried with?' And she said, 'How many cats do you think we'll have in a lifetime?' LOL!!!

lol. Imagine that, not enough room in the coffin for the body due to all the urns. Thank you for responding.
