Ok, I'm confused!!!! In the Superman Movies, Clark Kent is desparately in love with Lois. In this series, Clark's heart's desire is Lana---When did Clark's feelings change from Lana to Lois. Did Lana finally get killed for good and Clark fell in love with Lois? I know in one episode, Lana dies and Clark makes a deal for Lana to be brought back to life with the understanding that he can never have her.
In the original movies, I thought Lois was the one that Clark had always been crazy about. In this series, it seems to be Lana. What do you think?

I was going to ask the same question. I have never heard of Lana before, until smallville. and i watch smallville every night that it's on.

Lana has been in at least one of the Superman movies. An interesting fact; the actress that plays Martha Kent on Smallville actually played the part of Lana Lang in a movie.

Like the previous posters said, the writers of Smallville changed the storyline of the original Superman comics. They already introduced Lois even though Clark and her are supposed to meet after Clark went to work for the Daily Planet. In Smallville though, Lana is the one for Clark. In Metropolis, it's Clark and Lois. I really like Clark and Lois in Smallville to be together though. But I think that they're gonna stick to the original story and make Lana and Clark end up together.

In the Superman comic books, Clark didn't even meet Lois until after he started working at the Daily Planet. Lana was his hometown sweetheart, but they split up before he left Smallville.
The TV show has changed quite a few details from the old comic book stories.

Viewers of smallville should really be cautious as far as relating it to to superman storyline. It really has deviated from the original plot.
Coming from a huge superman comic book junkie, I actually don't mind the twists which the scriptwriters have introduced to make the story a bit more appealing to its audience.
In answer to your question, in the original superman comic book, Lana was Clark's first love and then he moved in to Metropolis and y'all know the rest. Lana actually learned about Clark being Superman. Don't know how the writers of smallville are gonna introduce it to the TV series.
