Wanted to thank you all for your well wishes and good thoughts and prayers for my brother Randy.
He didn't go into surgery until about 8:30p.m. or so. Not sure on the time there, but it was much later then what was scheduled. He got out around 11:30p.m. and everything went well. They got the abscess off his lung, but ended up not having to take any lung out like they thought they might have to. So far, he's doing well, as far as I know. They said he'd probably sleep and be out of it most of today. But he'll be in there for 7-10 days more and then will come home and can not do any kind of lifting or work or anything for 6-8 weeks and can not go back to work for 12. This is going to be very hard on Randy. He can not just sit there and do nothing. He is very active and LOVES to work. So hopefully everything else goes smoothly now. Thnk you again for all your warm thoughts, it was truly appericated!!

I am so glad that everything went well for your brother. Men can be stubborn so you will probably have to be the heavy and make sure that he stays put. Does he do any hobbies that he can keep himself busy at? Does he have a pc? If so, get him posting on here. LOL. We'll keep him busy and make sure he doesn't do anything more strenuous than lifting a finger or two. Huggers to you and your brother.

We'd have to get him a new computer first. He has our old one and was looking in to get a laptop come taxes, but now I am not so sure. :( But he does enjoy playing on the computer, just not his current one cause its an old piece of s**t lol.

I am so glad to read that he is doing well!
I am sure that in the beginning, he will not have a problem taking it easy.
But once he starts feeling himself again, he might get restless.
Try talking to him about taking up a new hobby that will keep him busy and sitting.
Maybe he likes building models. Or get him involve in myLot! LOL
myLot will keep him occupied for hours and days...if not until he is ready to get back up and around.
Thanks for the update sweetie!

I am so glad to hear that your brother's surgery went well and that he will be okay! ^_^ I know that it will be a real task for him to stay quiet and not be very active for that amount of time, but I hope that he can do it, because I know that it must be really important to his recovery. Sometimes I feel lucky that I am sedentary, lol.. if i had to stay still for weeks, as long as I could type on the computer, I really wouldn't mind (for the most part). But I can understand how difficult it would be for someone who is used to being on the go a lot to just sit around. I am really wishing your brother well and I am just so glad to hear that his surgery is now over and that everything went okay. ^_^
