Why is it so important to get an Associates Degree?

I am right now in school and am wanting to go to a university to finish up because it would just be so much easier however I have been told that if i were to do that i wouldnt be finishing what i started and how would you not be finishing as long as you are finishing up your education?

An associate degree is a type of undergraduate degree requiring a minimum of 60 semester credits/units (for our purposes the terms credits and units are used interchangeably). The traditional AA/AS Degree program consists of three parts: general education requirements, major requirements, and electives.
