Good day to all, in our "Philippines" this past years, there are lots of killing issues occurs, one of the most eye catching one is the political killings, there are big numbers of victims occurs, specially members of mediawho eposes the political issues itself.Numbers of reporters are being reported that are being killed w/o knowing the reason of being killed and who really the suspect is...
Why these people being killed if they expose some political issues?why there are people who protct them selves for is issue, why?because they are the most powerful people in this country? Is it because they can pay or hired a killer for them to be stop the issue?
Why they done these kind of things? Why there are people who cant admit their fault infront of the public people eventhough the public needs their expalnations? And why that these BIG people in the positions killed these innocent people? Is there something they are protecting at?Is there something they are hiding to us?or They are still hunger for the money that our government is having?
Election day is coming near thats why number of political killings are rising. If their intention is to serve our country, why they dont give a fair play with other candidates?

An Open Letter Calling for Impartial Fact-Finding Missions to Investigate Gross and Consistent Pattern of Human Rights Violations in the Philippines
December 4, 2006
December 10 marks the annual celebration of International Human Rights Day. It is a cause for the celebration of the recognition of the human rights of everyone. However, the International Human Rights Day also reminds us of the troubles besetting the people in the Philippines.
We are concerned grassroots members of the academe and the community in U.S. who have heard appalling pattern of human rights abuses in the Philippines. Various reputable international sources, including the London-based Amnesty International, The Economist, the Geneva-based World Council of Churches, the Geneva-based International Commission of Jurists, the New York-based Human Rights Watch, and Freedom House have all expressed concerns about the worsening human rights situation in the Philippines.
We are shocked to hear of the brutal killing of the soft-spoken Bishop Alberto Ramento who championed the causes of the poor and the marginalized sectors of society. We have learned that political killings persist and the figure rises by the day. Also, non-violent academics and prominent people in social movements are facing trumped up charges of rebellion filed against them. Dr. Francisco Nemenzo, retired president and professor emeritus of the University of the Philippines, and Renato Constantino, Jr., a non-governmental organization activist, are both in danger of facing political arrests. These are only some of the prominent Filipinos who are facing state repression. There are many more countless victims and human rights violations: women, peasants, and workers. Attacks on human rights activists and journalists are on the rise.
These are dreadful days in the history of Philippine democracy, as all kinds of human rights violations persist. We unite will all peace-loving people in the world and call for an urgent and independent investigation of the massive cases of human rights atrocities in the Philippines.

Very informed response! You get a plus from me! I hope this activity can be stopped! My heart aches when I hear about this. I just wonder how I missed this in the news.

This sounds very "sketchy". That is questionable. I mean, it sounds as if things are happening behind the scenes to effect outcomes and maintain situations which some who have money and influence are keeping control by stopping potentially damaging influences.
I would hope someone with "immunity" would investigate these killings and bring to light for public knowledge and public reaction. Like a big seriously bright light needs to be shed on these events to revel who is responsible and the underlining reasons. These events need to be scrutinized in a big big way! Everyone should know about what is going on here so that public opinion can have a play.
