Have you ever hurt an animal?

I would never mean to ever hurt an animal intentionally. Never on purpose as I find this type of behavior shows signs of mental instability if one was to do this on purpose. I think the only time I had ever hurt a dog was when I had accidentally stepped on my dog's paw. She ended up yelping & it absolutely made me feel horrible! I could never imagine doing this on purpose to an animal though.. I'm not that type of person! . .
I know with one of the dogs that I used to own.. That before we had purchased her. That the owners before us ended up actually leaving the dog out in a cold barn with hay poking through her fur. She had pieces of fur missing in certain pieces as well because of the owners not taking care of her. They actually used to hit her & not feed her on a regular basis. When I heard of this it just sickened me.
I remember when we first got her how scared she was.. She never ever knew what it was like to be shown love.. I remember it took her a while to warm up to us.. But afterwards she ended up showing me more affection & we eventually became inseparable.
I cannot imagine how an animal must feel when they are being mistreated. It just breaks my heart. And in my opinion people who think it's funny to mistreat animals or hurt them intentionally are truly very sick.
In conclusion.. I could never imagine hurting an animal intentionally. They are such innocent, helpless animals who cannot defend themselves like us human-beings out there in this world. I've always thought of animals as so precious & I know that personally.. I love my dog with all my heart & I could never imagine hurting her on purpose.. In my opinion if people are wanting to hurt animals that.. They should just lock these type of people up & throw the key away!
