What kinds of tricks have you taught your dog?

So far my dog can only sit, shake, circle and lie down (and come when he wants to!) He's a fairly old dog, but really enjoys five minutes of training per day and the associated treats that go with it. What cute tricks have you taught your dog and how long did it take him to learn the trick?

My dog is now 14. She was hard to train. She used to, when younger (she is deaf, arthritic and just plain old) fetch your slippers, jump through a hula hoop, sit, stay, stuff like that. The one thing that I absolutely loved (or two things) were: she would get the paper in the morning from the front walk (loved that when it's cold, raining or snowy) and she would get the mail from the mailman! Gotta love it.

Yeah, my dog has arthritis too and I'm looking for tricks that won't be too uncomfortable for him to perform. I make sure we practice on a rug.

Our kuma went to puppy kindergarten and can sit, shake hands, and lay down but that is about it. He was really good at it the first few years but now on occasion he has selective hearing.

Add to my dog's arthritis is also a hearing loss since he's old, do I'm not sure sometimes if he really hears what I tell him or not, lol. TREATS are the stimulus that get him to do his tricks, but he must be smarter than I think because when he sees me with a handful of treats wanting to work with him, he does ALL his tricks in a row just to get the treats faster. Hmmmm.

Well, my dogs know Sit, Lie (Down or Lie Down), and obviously Back.
Of course, my dog at my Mom's house, Boomer, knows Up also. When he lies down, he will get up...or sometimes jump lol.
