Is there a government run by Iraqis themselves already in place? If so, it is high time that the US leaves Iraq. Although I am not an American, I can feel the pain of losing limbs and lives over there. Those soldiers should best be called home so they can go to their families and be safe from the ire of the Iraqis who do not desire the presence of the Americans in their country.

yes, there has been for years. iraqi's lined up and risked thjeir lives for the first time to vote for their own destinay and i admire them for it...it made me more interested in voting in my own country, i figure that if a person can stand in line for hours, risk getting shot at, blown up or having their families slaughted to vote, i guess i can take 20 minutes out of my day to vote. its testimony to the greatness of the iraqi people. those people that risked their lives to vote are just the kind of people who make democrocy succeed. and the number of iraqis who dont want us there is far less than the world think...the number is actualy about 25-30%. the rest are actualy quite greatfull for the opertunity

to answer this question with a yes or no is inadequet. Yes we should leave....WHEN THE JOB IS DONE. or when the ELECTED GOVERNMENT OF IRAQ askes us to. To leave now would be absolutly irrisponsable. One poster in this thread asserts that u.s. troups are inflaming violence and this si simpy NOT TRUE, its a myth. These are people who want power for thjem selves and if we leave now they will only continualy kill more iraqi's. If we were the reason there was violence still it would be mostly our troups they were klilling, but by and large the targets are their own fellow countrymen. simply put,,,iraqi's are killing iraqi's and if we leave they will simply kill MORE iraqi's.

I hope your views are right. I really feel sad if I hear news that some soldiers are falling victims to the packets of resistance which is operating therein. You see, this resistance will never be trampled to dust. There will always be a group of people, though a minority, which will never be happy with what's going on. This is a fact of life. We know that almost everywhere, in so mmany countries all over the world, the existence of packets of resistance is a common thing.

Hi! I agree, we should leave Iraq. They have had over two years to set up their own government. The US has lost trillions of dollars and resources because of this so-called "war." People keep saying "the job isn't done." What job? First we were told that the US was going after terrorists because of 9/11, then we were told that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction (which if Bush would have waited two stinking weeks for the UN weapons inspectors he would have found out that wasn't true), then it was a quest to install "democracy" and depose Hussein. What's the next fairy tale going to be? We all know the "real reason" behind the war, and it stinks that US soldiers had to lose their lives because of the greed and personal agenda of a few men.

Im not american, but i have to say YES, troops have to leave Iraq. My reason is simple. Troops in Iraq will only make the militant more aggresive. Besides, the troops cannot do much there. It was like going to Iraq to die. Let Iraq solve its own problem.

Yes, definately. I'm not sure what we are doing over there in the first place. The mayhem, car bombs, etc still continue. Those people over there don't even think the same way we do. They've been like they are for years and years. We are talking about people that love to die...heck, we could have saved alot of time and money, dropped one big nuke and made them all happy. If we are going to go through the expense and lives to interfere with another country's life, we could have hit alot closer to home. Lets help Mexico !!!!
