I've been burned twice---once actually lost me $40. I bid on the Star Wars trilogy for my hubby and the seller went AWOL after I won the auction. Not much I could do. I reported it but the guy was no longer a registered user and I never got any money back. Early in Jan. of this year, I bid on a really nice gift item for my best friend's birthday--something she'd really been wanting. I won the auction and waited and waited and waited and after over a week, I emailed the seller asking where the package was. She said she forgot to ship it and would ship the next day. So I waited and waited and waited. Finally I emailed and said if I didn't get it I would report her to ebay and paypal. The next day I got an email saying I would be getting a full refund. No explanation or anything. Meanwhile, my friend's birthday came and went and I had nothing for her. It's a risk you take on ebay I guess. I've had numerous other positive transactions as both a seller and a buyer so this won't sour my opinion of ebay.
